Mapping of algae production facilities in Europe

A new dataset on industrial algae production in Europe was published as part of the European Marine Observation and Data Network (EMODnet), EMODnet Human Activities and in coordination with the Joint Research Centre of the European Commission (JRC).

This dataset shows the location of the algae (macro and micro) production facilities, broken down by production method.

In the near future more detailed information on the sector (e.g. algae species by production facility, mapping of the algae processing industry, location of the Spirulina producers) will be collected and a continuous effort will be made to add new companies to the database.
